Comparing booking apps for barbershops in Spain
Lists of "the best booking apps" almost never say where they read the price or when. This is not a list of winners. It is a matrix of what each product published on its own pages on 20 September 2026, for the Spanish market, with the link next to it. Prices change and so do terms, so what is worth keeping here is the method, not the snapshot.
Before looking at figures it helps to be clear about what is being compared, because the three business models in this market have nothing in common.
Three models that charge in different ways
- A fixed fee per business or per staff member. You pay the same whatever your bookings are. The cost grows with the team, not with revenue.
- Commission on customers acquired through the marketplace. The platform runs its own search and charges when somebody finds you there for the first time. The cost grows as you grow.
- Payment processing commission. A percentage of what is charged online. It is independent of the other two and often forgotten when comparing.
One product can combine all three. Comparing only the first line of the price is the mistake that makes the third invoice a surprise.
What the official pages publish
Every figure below comes from the official pages of each product for Spain or, where a product publishes no Spanish page, from its international page in euros. Checked on 20 September 2026. Amounts appear exactly as each company publishes them, including how they treat VAT.
| Product | Published fee | Extra staff member | Acquisition commission | Other published terms |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Booksy | 34.99 EUR + VAT per month | 8 EUR + VAT per employee per month | Boost: a one-off charge of 30 % of the total cost of the first visit by a customer who arrived through Boost | No lock-in, cancel at any time, 7-day trial |
| Treatwell | The pricing page shows Starter and Advanced plans with no fee amount published | Not published on that page | 25 % on bookings from new marketplace customers; 0 % on repeat bookings | 2 % for payment processing when the customer pays online; 12-month minimum contract; fees subject to VAT |
| TIMIFY | Classic free for one resource; Premium from 25 EUR a month billed annually or 31 billed monthly; Enterprise from 42 or 53 EUR. Excluding VAT | Price scales by number of managed resources, from 1 to 9 or more | The pricing page does not specify an acquisition commission | Both billing choices are 12-month subscriptions; monthly billing does not mean a monthly commitment |

One calendar for the whole team
Reserrva keeps services, staff and manual appointments in a single panel, and tracks availability for each barber separately.

Using the table above, the annual cost of a fixed-fee model works out like this:
(base fee + cost per staff member × extra staff members) × 12
For a three-barber shop on the rate Booksy publishes: 34.99 + (8 × 2) = 50.99 EUR + VAT a month, so 611.88 EUR + VAT a year. The arithmetic is checkable against the figures in the table; the result only holds if those figures are still current when you read this.
A commission model cannot be calculated the same way, because it depends on how many new customers reach you through the marketplace. The useful question is not "what does it cost" but "how many new customers a month would have to arrive that way for it to pay off, and what happens once those customers are mine?" With 25 % or 30 % on the first visit and 0 % afterwards, the sum depends entirely on how many of those customers come back.
The five questions that decide, and that are not in the price
- What can you export when you leave? Check the fields, format and delivery timeframe, as well as your obligations when transferring personal data.
- How does it handle several staff on different shifts? This is where products differ most and where comparisons look least.
- What happens when somebody books by phone? A calendar that only understands online bookings forces you to keep two diaries.
- Is there a lock-in? Booksy publishes that there is none; Treatwell publishes a 12-month minimum. Both TIMIFY billing options also require a 12-month subscription. That is a far bigger difference in commitment than a few euros a month.
- Does the customer pay to book? That affects your conversion, not your invoice.
How to run the test in two weeks
Take a normal week, not your best one. Write down how many appointments you had, how many arrived by phone or message, and how many came from an external search. With that you can simulate the invoice from each model before migrating anything.
Then trial a single product for two weeks with your real team and your real services, not with demo data. What you will find out is not whether the software works, but whether your team uses it when four people are waiting.
How to close the decision
Between the table and the formula you now have everything that can be known from the outside. The rest comes out of your own business, in this order:
- Work out the fixed annual cost of each option at your real headcount.
- Estimate the variable part only if you are going to use the marketplace, and using your own figure for how many new customers come back.
- Check the five questions above on the supplier page or by phone, not in somebody else comparison.
- Trial one option only, for two weeks, with your real team and your real services.
If none of them fits at the end of that, that is a valid answer and a fairly common one: it means what you are short of is internal rules rather than software, and that is cheaper to fix.
