Managing your time

Calendly, Cal.com or Reserrva if you sell sessions

6 min read

Reserrva is one of the options in this comparison, so read it with that in mind. We also say when Calendly or Cal.com suit you better, because in some cases they do.

All three give you a link where someone picks a time. Calendly has a public landing page where invitees can see and book your active event types, and Cal.com lets you create named event types with a description and a length. So the choice comes down to smaller things: what each free plan includes, whether you can charge at booking, and how your services look on the page.

When to pick Calendly

Calendly is a sensible choice if scheduling is all you need and one event type covers it, because that's what the free plan gives you.

It also fits if you sell as a team: paid plans add team pages and collaborative event types, so invitees can book with the right person.

When to pick Cal.com

Cal.com is for people who want more control. Its free plan for one person doesn't limit event types and lets you request payment before someone books, and its page advertises one-click import of Calendly events.

If you code, or have someone nearby who does, you'll find more to adjust. If you just want to publish a link and forget about it, it may be more tool than you need.

When to pick Reserrva

Reserrva makes sense when clients arrive asking "what do you offer and what does it cost?" before they think about a time, and you're happy to take payment yourself. Each service carries its length and price on your page.

Here's what it includes on its free plan for one person:

  • Your own page and link, with your services, lengths and prices
  • Booking without the client creating an account
  • A Google Calendar connection, so your commitments block time
  • A Google Meet link for online appointments
  • A booking confirmation for the client
  • A client list with their history

Before you decide, set up the same three services in each tool and open the page the way a client would. That will show you more than this table can.

Reserrva has fewer sales-tool integrations than the other two and doesn't try to compete there.

Four questions to decide in ten minutes

Answer them in order and stop at the first clear answer.

Do you need to charge at booking? If yes, rule out Reserrva and choose between Calendly and Cal.com.

Do you share calls across a sales team? Look at Calendly or Cal.com first. Reserrva has no sales-tool integrations.

Do new people arrive wanting to see what you sell and at what price? Compare how each tool shows your services and prices.

Do you sell several services of different lengths? Free Calendly allows one event type, so the rest means a paid plan or another tool. Reserrva and Cal.com have no such limit on their free plans.

Before you change anything

If your current tool works, don't switch because of an article. The problem is often in the setup: too many open hours, no minimum notice, inherited meeting lengths. Start with how to set up your link properly, which applies to all three.

And don't expect a tool to fix what happens after the booking. What you do on the first call and your policy for people who don't turn up are on you. The full map is in how to manage your time if you work by appointment.
