Write your cancellation policy

You can cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours of notice. If you tell us later than that or do not show up, the €30 deposit is not refunded. Contact the business to move the appointment.

A policy your customers can understand

The policy should say how much notice the customer has to give, what happens to the deposit and how they can change the appointment. Show it before the booking is made and keep proof that it was accepted. Avoid threats and vague wording. The consequence should be in proportion to the slot you are holding.

Before you publish it

Adapt the text to the way you operate and get advice if you charge in advance. The Spanish edition of this tool was written against Spain's consumer rules (Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007), which require the information given before booking and the conditions to be clear; check the rules that apply where you trade. This tool drafts a starting point, not legal advice.

Tie the rule to your cost of no-shows, the guide to cancellation policies and the guide to tattoo deposits.
